Auto Trader is urging the government’s Driver And Vehicle Licensing Agency to communicate with British road users about the upcoming changes regarding road tax discs. The company has revealed that it has received 12,000 different complaints from customers who are unsure about what is happening under the new system.
As a result, the sales director for Auto Trader is warning the DVLA that those who buy and sell cars are going to be left confused unless it clarifies what it going on. Sharon Randall said: “This is a very significant change to the way road tax will be administered by DVLA and the message from our 12,000 retail customers is that the communication has been, at best, low key.”
Auto Trader is worried that, if many of the 30 million people that DVLA’s changes do not understand the changes, it will impact the company’s business. Transactions, it says, will come through late and dealers will be at the receiving end of complaints they cannot resolve. Auto Trader has also said that it is just one of many car companies worried about the DVLA’s lack of communication regarding the changes.
