UK Mail Sees Boost In Business From Online Sales

April 9th 2014

The West Midlands based parcel and post carrier UK Mail has seen a huge boost in business due to increased online shopping deliveries. Group revenue over the last three months have gone up by 6% compared to figures from last year. Meanwhile, the total revenue for the last year has increased by 7% from last year’s £475 million. UK Mail believes that the “volume growth was again partly driven by an increase in home deliveries related to online shopping.”

The Birmingham based company are now one of Royal Mail’s biggest competitors. They have continuously had a good performance rating and are now a strong force in the online delivery market. The figures are likely to increase as UK Mail develop a new central sorting which is under construction and due to be functioning by early next year.

Guy Buswell, the chief executive at UK Mail, said: “Our business has continued to perform well with good volume growth in both our parcels and mail businesses, showing the strength of our customer offering.”

“Meanwhile our new one hour delivery window project has been implemented and is being rolled out across our network, enabling us to provide our customers with industry leading services in this key area.”

“As expected, the coming year will be something of a transitional period for the group, reflecting the current programme of investment, but our outlook for our trading performance is unchanged.”
