Upgraded Courtesy Car Cover

This service grants you the use of a car for 28 days if your current vehicle is out of action due to loss or damage. This even includes situations where a car may be deemed beyond repair by your insurer’s approved repair network!

Driver Injury Cover

Tesco’s Car Key Cover offers access to a 24-hour a day helpline for when your keys are lost, stolen, or locked inside your car. After 14 days you will be issued a replacement for your car key and all other keys that might have been attached to your car key fob. Tesco will even organise replacement locks!
This additional service is up to the value of £1500 per policy.

How do I retrieve a Saved Policy?

Tesco Bank allows customers to save a quote during the registration process so they can return to it later on and/or use it to make comparisons.

To retrieve a saved car insurance quote on the Tesco Bank website, simply follow the steps below.

  1. Go to tescobank.com/insurance/ and click ‘More’ at the bottom of the Car Insurance information box.
  2. From there, click ‘Retrieve a Saved Quote’ in the left hand column menu in the sidebar of the page.
  3. Enter your quote reference, which will have been emailed to you when you first requested your quote, along with your postcode and date of birth.

How do I make a claim?

When will I need to update my policy?

If you are an existing Tesco car insurance customer, you will need to let Tesco Bank know of any changes to your circumstances that might affect any future claims.

These  include:

  • Changing your vehicle
  • Moving house/changing your address
  • Any changes to your Direct Debit details
  • Adding any optional extras to your policy such as Breakdown Cover or Driver Injury Cover.

You should also contact Tesco car insurance customer service if you want to make a payment or require replacement policy documents.

You can make any of these amendments to your policy yourself simply by logging in to your online account.

Renewing or Cancelling your Policy

You will be invited to renew your policy via letter or email around 21 days before your renewal date. This will also inform you of any renewal fees and the details of your renewed cover, as well as which extras will be renewed also.
