Customer Services

Contact Severn Trent customer services on 0843 557 3573 if you have a general enquiry about their waterworks. Get a breakdown of their services and charges and find out about bill increases and how they will affect you. Call to check responsibility for pipes and drains to find out whether it is up to the property owner, such as yourself, to resolve an issue or if it is the responsibility of Severn Trent. You can check for any ongoing problems in your area online and report any new issues so that Severn Trent can fix them as soon as possible. Get help with your online account if you are having difficulty using it. You could also send an e-mail to [email protected].

Paying Bills

There are two payment plans at Severn Trent for customers who prefer to pay in instalments. You can register to set up a monthly Direct Debit, or a demand Direct Debit which takes automatic payments every time Severn Trent produces your bill. Alternatively, you can set up a monthly payment plan and ask for Severn Trent to send you a Water Card. You can then make payments with the card at a PayPoint shop. Call 0843 557 5222 to order a Water Card or discuss paying your bill. You can call to arrange a different payment plan if you would prefer to make a payment each week instead of each month. Call if you are struggling to make payments to discuss your options.

Water Meters

Customers without water meters are charged an estimated bill for their water use. You could save money on your bill by only paying for the exact amount you use, measured with a water meter. You can submit meter readings through your online account or call 0844 453 0159 if you need guidance on reading your water meter. Call to apply for a water meter if you would like one, and Severn Trent will arrange for a fitter to install one for free. They will only charge you if they have to move the water meter after it has already been fitted. If there is no place for them to install a water meter on your property, you can enquire about assessed charge tariffs for a potential discount.

Moving Homes

If you are moving house, you will need to update your account and inform the relevant water supply companies. To check whether your new address is supplied by Severn Trent or not, call 0844 453 0212. You do not need to notify Severn Trent of your move more than 28 days in advance. If you are moving to a different region, you must contact Severn Trent to close your account. For those with water meters, you will need to provide a final reading on the day you leave. If you are a new customer, you need to register with Severn Trent to set up an account. They will request a reading on the day you move in if you have a water meter. Call for help at any stage when you move.

Support Schemes

Severn Trent offers personalized services to make sure that they can meet the individual needs of every customer. If you need help understanding your bill or want to request an alternative format such as Braille, they can assist. You can arrange for someone to visit and read your meter for you, and set up a password to prevent bogus callers. Nominate someone to manage your account on your behalf, or get help with paying your bills. There are financial support schemes like WaterSure, Big Difference, and the Severn Trent Trust Fund. Call 0843 290 7098 to find out which support schemes you or someone else in your household might be eligible for, including Priority Services.

Complaints

Whether you are a customer with Severn Trent or not, you can always call them to report an issue. If you have a negative experience with the service from Severn Trent, call 0843 290 7105 to make an official complaint. You can complain anonymously, unless it relates to your own account or property. In this case, you’ll have to provide your details and any reference numbers to help the advisors look into your complaint.
