John Lewis Telephone Number

0843 557 3542

The founder John Lewis opened his self-titled drapery shop in London in 1864. The John Lewis Partnership was later founded by his son in 1920, and the group proceeded to take over the Waitrose chain of supermarkets in 1937. The “partners” are all employees of John Lewis and Waitrose. Waitrose is the food retailer for John Lewis stores, and some Waitrose supermarkets sell homewares from John Lewis. John Lewis has a reputation as a high-end British department store, and is well-known for the brand’s sentimental Christmas adverts, which they have released every winter since 2007. There are 50 stores in the UK, plus one concession in Dublin and 5 in Australia.

Customer Services

Contact John Lewis customer services by dialling 0843 557 3542 if you have a question or a complaint regarding anything to do with John Lewis. Locate a branch and enquire about their opening times, facilities, or stock levels. Find out more about a particular product or current promotional offers, both in-store and online. Get help with their My John Lewis loyalty scheme if you are a member or want to become one. You can enquire about gift cards or vouchers if you are having trouble redeeming them. Find out about guarantees and added care options if you want to make sure that your John Lewis product is protected for repairs. Or call about their Price Match promise.

Online Orders

Once you place an order online, in most cases you won’t be able to change it. However, if you change your mind about something quickly, call 0843 557 5084. John Lewis might be able to make some amendments or cancel your order completely if it is still processing. Once it is ready for despatch, you will just have to wait until you receive the delivery and then return the goods for a refund. The only changes John Lewis can make to an order are amending the delivery address or removing some items so that you don’t have to cancel it and place an entirely new order. Some products are non-refundable so you might not be able to cancel. Call if there are damaged or missing items.

Delivery & Collection

When you order from the John Lewis website, you can choose from several delivery methods. The options include standard, next day, named day, click and collect from a John Lewis or Waitrose store, Collect+ from a participating local shop, and even international delivery to 38 countries around the world. Call 0844 826 8029 if you have some questions or concerns about the cost or process of delivery before you select the best method for your order. Call for help tracking your order or request a refund for an express delivery charge if it did not arrive in the promised time frame. If a product is supplied externally direct from the manufacturer, they will contact you about the order.

Returns & Refunds

The returns policy is longer than usual at John Lewis, allowing you 35 days to return a product if you change your mind about it. However, this needs to be unused and unopened, unless you are returning it because of a defect. You can take items back to any store, or send them back via courier service if you bought them online. Use Royal Mail, myHermes, or Collect+ or arrange a home collection for large items. Call 0844 248 2676 if you need help with organizing a return or if you do not receive a refund within 5 to 14 days. You can call to check if an item is excluded from the returns policy or a product can be exchanged, or report a fault with a purchase and get technical support.

You can phone for help with orders for collection at the store, or simply call to find out which services are available in the store and which departments they have. Call to find out about seasonal or special store events.
