Customer Services

You can call to get a quote for car insurance or try to retrieve a previous quote. Find out which elements 1st Central covers as standard, such as accidental damage, medical expenses, courtesy cars, and Key Assist. Enquire about No Claims Discounts or check which extras are available and how much it would cost to add them to the standard insurance policy. These include breakdown cover and legal expenses. Otherwise, you can call to discuss career possibilities at 1st Central.

Your Policy

Check the levels of your cover if you need confirmation of what 1st Central is insuring you for. You can call for help with understanding the wording of your policy. Call if you can’t log into your Customer Portal or access your insurance policy documentation. Or call if you do not receive your certificate of insurance by e-mail within 24 hours. If you need to update your cover, change your address, or renew your policy, there is an amendment fee from £30-£50.

Payments

It is important to make payments for your car insurance on time. If you miss a payment or your Direct Debit fails, they will charge you a £30 default fee. You can make payments online at any time or over the phone with a credit or debit card. You can request to change your monthly payment date but this will incur an administration fee of £10. Call at any point during the policy term if you want to settle your credit agreement in full. Call to chase refunds in the event that you cancelled your policy.

Cancellations

There is a 14-day “cooling-off period” after purchasing an insurance policy from 1st Central. They will keep the £50 set-up fee, but issue a pro-rata refund for the premium. They will only charge for the amount of time you had cover, providing you did not make a claim. You will get a full refund for any optional extras as long as you didn’t claim against them. After 14 days, you can call to cancel at any time without giving notice. However, they will charge a cancellation fee of £50.

Claims

Even if you are not making a claim, you need to inform them whenever you are involved in an incident. This could be a road accident, or theft or vandalism. If it’s the former, you may promptly contact a Pennsylvania car crash lawyer without a second thought. They will tell you what needs to happen or update you if any other parties make a claim. You can check excess payments and repairs, courtesy cars, or valuation of your car if it gets written off. Call to check on the progress of your claim or ongoing car repairs, or for help recovering possessions.

Complaints

For complaints which are easier to resolve, they will aim to do so while you are on the phone. Sometimes it might require further investigation, such as finding phone call recordings or tracking down information from their partners. They will contact you back to acknowledge the complaint and give you the name of the person handling it. You can call and ask for that person to check on the progress of your complaint. They should provide a resolution within 8 weeks.
